Earlier this morning, I watched Jim Carrey’s movie entitled Bruce Almighty. It was a funny story about an ordinary man, who failed in his reporting career and was endowed by God with the power to become HIM; the Alpha and Omega. Luckily Bruce, played by Jim Carrey, was able to handle the job of being God by doing the most out of his supernatural powers thereby leading to his successful career. But unluckily, he was not able to do his responsibility as God himself. It just struck my mind for a moment, imagining that what if I was God for a day. It would really be great to be God with all the unimaginable powers I would acquire for a day. I could even do things that normal people can’t do. I can even save the world for a single day. That’s not bad, after all I am entitled to a single day, becoming what I wanted dearly. But then there are things I also need to sacrifice, if I’d be God, I should do all his works. Answer a lot of prayers and do things that no man could have ever done, help those who need help, be the superhero, and specially create wonders in the world. It means sacrificing one day for the world. That would be pretty difficult for me, cause in fact I cannot be like God, even if I was given those tremendous powers, and never in my wildest dreams do I want to become Him. He is the MAN and nothing can change Him as the Alpha and the Omega. Well, dreams are for free, maybe I’ll just dream more. I can be like God in my own ways. =)

Opportunities in life come and go as they say. But I think it’s one way of learning how a person can grow and learn from it. Just recently our client already concluded our current outsourced project. Meaning, they no longer need the service of our team. I felt a little bit sad about the recent happening since that project was our source of bread and butter. But what can we do, it just happened and we never expected it. Our company handled that project for more than 3 years now and losing it was like losing someone you’ve learned to love. I just bought my very own second-hand laptop yesterday; its a Toshiba Satellite 1905-S301 laptop. It is driven by a fast 2 GHz Pentium 4 processor, with 512 MB of SDRAM (expandable to 1,024 MB), a fast front-side bus speed of 400 MHz, and a 128 MB ATI M6-P graphics chip. It has a 15-inch XGA TFT active-matrix display, a 40 GB hard drive and a DVD-ROM/CD-RW. I got it in an Ebay auction and it costs around Php 16, 000. When I contacted the seller about the price, at first, he disagreed on giving me a discount since he's going to be the one handling the shipping fee. But then he changed his mind and lowered the price to Php 15, 000, still I insisted on lowering the price further. It's through my negotiating "abilities" which convinced him to give it to me in a very affordable rate which is, of course, an advantage for both of us. Since he's going to ship it here in Cagayan and I will pay an interbranch fee for the payment deposit. I bought the stuff for Php 14,500 and indeed it is a very agreeable deal. It's already being delivered now and I'm waiting for it to arrive. Of course, I'm excited and can't wait to use my new "but-not-new" laptop.

This post is entirely attributed to all my personal and material longings in life. Nah, maybe not! But still it is... Anyway, I was thinking a while ago on what to buy on my birthday as a present, of course, for myself. What if I bought a brand new car for my birthday? Mmmm too expensive. Or maybe buy a Nokia Xpress Music phone? It's already on my wish list so I'd still probably buy it one of these days. Ting! I knew it what I need for my birthday is a new laptop just like this -- a Dell XPS M1330 laptop or rather a refurbished macbook air would also be perfect. Wowowee! This is probably it, I can already feel it in my senses. Imagine me using this kind of cool gadget and bringing it with me in the office. Oh yeah! All desktop users please proceed to the laptop department and buy yourself a laptop. Lol I was just joking about that, I might offend my friends who are into the desktop frenzy. My girlfriend’s mom was complaining about the rat problem they have in their house. My dad and his gardening frenzy

Just this morning I saw my father working in our garden. He usually does his daily routine of taking care of his precious plants; cutting all the weeds that grew around the garden, rearranging the plants and of course watering them. His day would never be complete without his daily morning rituals and he does it day by day for the whole week. My father is really interested in gardening and I bet if he’d be working in a landscape and lawn service company such as Tru Green, he’d probably be one of the best. But as far as I know, gardening and landscaping is just part of his past time so I would never even think if he’d be interested in such a company anyway. If I were to go on a vacation, I would probably choose to go to Barcelona. With its historical and magnificent attractions, busy central streets, and frequently visited and oldest beaches such as the Sant Sebastià and Barceloneta; Barcelona is on my top list of places that I would like to visit when I go abroad.

When it comes to accommodation, the second largest city of Spain offers the finest suites and amenities for travelers and tourists alike. As for my future itinerary, the first trip would be to walk down the streets of Las Ramblas and stay at one of the Barcelona Hotels. On the second day of my visit, I would probably visit the Picasso Museum, walk up and down Passeig de Gràcia, and take a ride on the bus and stroll around the area. As for my third day, I would probably try spending one night in one of the cheap Ramblas Hotels in Las Ramblas area.

It would also be nice if I learn a bit of Spanish so that I can talk to some local people in Barcelona. So if I would ask somebody about Barcelona Hoteles, they would surely understand me. And for my last day in the second largest city of Spain, I’d love to go on a day trip in Montserrat by train, yeah, that would be very interesting. MANILA, Philippines -- Mobile phone company Nokia Philippines is warning consumers about the proliferation of fake Nokia devices being sold in the local market.

A team from the Asia Pacific region is now coordinating with local enforcement agencies to conduct an investigation on the sale of these fake products, which is likely violating the company’s brand, said Nikka Singson-Abes, corporate communications manager of Nokia Philippines Inc., in an interview.

Singson-Abes said Nokia Philippines has received reports from its Nokia centers that have been receiving fake products from customers wanting to have the units serviced.

“We’re also trying to verify reports about those being sold in popular malls and in the provinces,” she said.

The Nokia Philippines executive said the latest Nokia phone models like Nokia Xpress Music Nokia N81, Nokia 5310, Nokia N95, Nokia N82, Nokia 6120, were being sold at half or a third of the original price, which is an indicator that the unit might be fake.

“They’re branded Nokia and sometimes even the packaging is made to look like the real thing. I am told the phones are lighter in weight than the original. Some are being brought to the Nokia Care Centers for repair and because they are fake, they are turned down,” she said in an e-mailed advisory.

Asked how serious the problem has turned into, Singson-Abes said this development has already prompted the local office to warn consumers.

We Filipinos are fond of eating at fastfood chains and most preferably love to cook instant meals, especially noodles. The fact that were in a fast paced society only tells us that we need to blend in with the population. Living in a third world country, such as the Philippines, only shows that an average low class Pinoy citizen would rather buy cheap and easy-to-cook meals, than prefer the usual way of preparing the dish served, which takes a lot of time, money, and effort. Don't you know that cooking instant noodles the 'wrong way' could harm our bodies and health? Ting! No idea?

Well, I got this article from one of my office mate in his blog. It deals with the correct method of cooking instant noodles to prevent additives added in the food's ingredients from becoming toxic.

Here are the correct instructions when cooking your favorite noodles:

1. Boil the noodle in a pot of water.

2. Once the noodle is cooked, take out the noodle, and throw away the water, which contains the wax like substance.

3. Boil another pot of water and place the noodle into the hot boiling pot and then shut the fire.

4. Only at this stage when the fire is off, and while the water is still very hot, that you place the ingredients into the water, to make noodle soup.

5. However, if you need dry noodles, take out the noodles and add the ingredients and toss it to get dry noodles.

Smoking Kangaroos - A local OPM alternative and punk band born with friendship and of course a lot of beer..wheeww that was tough! Started in 2003 with Jam on drums, Lyle on bass, Jason on rhythms and back-up vocals, Ferdie on lead guitar, and Lei on lead vocals. It soon ended up merging some of the members from their brother band Eavesdrop. Aian, the drummer of Eavesdrop was imported to be the new bassist for the Kangaroos together with Keith as a substitute bassist. Although it was just a jamming session that formed the band and a lot of drinking..and it's really complicated! The rhythm guitarist was soon replaced with Lyle a.k.a “the lead man”, when Jason left for the US and Ferdie became the back-up vocals and rhythm guitarist for the group. They recorded their single song entitled 'Wasted Time' composed by their former lead guitarist. They also play revivals from the 80’s and the present. The band is settled in Cagayan de Oro and is proud to be part of the independent group of performers in the locality.
